Toyota loses legal dispute concerning “Prius” in India

Toyota is not allowed to use the name “Prius” for its hybrid model in India. That is, what the Supreme Court of India decided, granting exclusive trademark rights to Prius Auto Industries, an Indian car component supplier that registered this name in 2001 – nine years earlier than Toyota.
