VW trademarks additional names for its I.D. family

German carmaker VW has instructed the World Intellectual Property Organization to protect two additional potential names for upcoming electric members of the I.D. family – namely, the I.D. Cruiser and the I.D. Freeler.

So far, VW has introduced MEB-based concepts of its I.D., I.D. Crozz and I.D. Buzz. Other (leaked) model names like I.D. Lounge, I.D. AEROe and I.D. Streetmate have not yet been officially confirmed.

German magazine “Focus Online” reported recently that the I.D. Lounge is going to be a crossover model with seven seats while the I.D. AEROe is representing a sporty upper class hatchback with a range of up to 700 km. However, nobody dared to do forecasts regarding the Streetmate, Cruiser and Freeler – so far at least.
