Morgan EV3 production to kick-off in late 2018
British sports carmaker Morgan announces a technology partnership with Frazer-Nash Energy Systems and wants to start producing its electric trike in Q3 2018.
The electric version of Morgan’s iconic electric trike has been in the making since 2016 when a prototype showed up in Geneva but finally the Brits are getting the production lines ready to roll comes next year.
Morgan has forged a technical partnership with Frazer-Nash Energy to tune the electric drive system so that it may reach a top speed of 130 kph. The series version of the EV3 got a power of 35 kW and runs on a 21 kWh battery that delivers a range just short of 200 kilometres as the EV3 is very light.
Performance is not the focal point for Morgan though, but an exceptional driving experience in the 500 kilo one-seater is. The Morgan EV3 will be hand made to order in Britain from the third quarter of 2018.
