Audi Sports to electrify from 2020
Audi’s performance division wants to offer electrified models comes the end of the decade. The boss Stefan Winkelman talked to Autocar announcing a small revolution.
Outgoing Audi Sport leader Stephan Winkelmann said Audi’s performance arm will introduce electrified vehicles from 2020. According to Autocar, Winkelmann announced that Audi Sports “will be less evolutionary and more into revolution.”
He did not offer any detail on the first model but did say that apart from electrification, the brand would turn to premium SUVs and also keep their focus on turbo engines, “legislators permitting.”
If not, Audi is working and a Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture reportedly so a turn for more greener cars from the performance division is not impossible.
