Ford EVs made in Mexico not America
U.S. carmaker Ford has changed plans to make the States its main EV production hub and now said it would manufacture across the border in Mexico rather.
Ford has changed initial plans to settle is electric car production in the States. At the beginning of this year, Ford announced to turn its facility in Flat Rock in Michigan into its EV manufacturing HQ.
However, a change of plans now designate Flat Rock as a so-called Excellence Centre for autonomous vehicles, while the Ford facility in Cuautitlán, Mexico is to concentrate on electric car production of models such as the electric SUV Ford plans to launch by 2020.
