Volkswagen CEO Matthias Müller may have lost his countenance here for a moment, when asked about Tesla at a panel on the future of the automotive industry. He pointed out that VW sells about 11m cars a year, while making a profit of up to 14bn euros.

UK Roads Minister Jesse Norman said an e-bike subsidy could happen in the UK not only in anattempt to clean up deliveries but also to get more people cycling.
