E-truck by diesel engine builder: Cummins, commonly known for its diesel motors, apparently got a sense for Zeitgeist and now presents its own electric truck. The AEOS is an 8 ton cab able to tow a 22 ton trailer. Its 140 kWh battery is said to last for 160 kilometres of heavy duty but Cummins offers an optional diesel range extender that expands the operation to 500 km. Still, Cummins seems serious and plans to begin production by 2019. Once the AEOS will hit the road a year later, the manufacturer targets a charge time of 20 minutes, Tesla style.
