Bollinger shows off-road EV: The US startup Bollinger Motors has presented its pure-electric B1, which it described as a sport and utility truck (SUT). The surprisingly angular 265 kW strong off road EV will have two battery variants with 60 and 100 kWh, which will last about 200 and 320 km according to Bollinger. In terms of DC charge, Bollinger has employed CHAdeMO. Further information and prices will be announced later in 2017.

Swiss factories for Chinese batteries: Chinese battery maker Lishan has opened a plant in Suzhou that will employ four production lines from Swiss company Bühler to produce electrode paste. The new factory currently has a capacity of four GWh, which will be expanded to 15 GWh in the near future. The cell type 21700 produced in Suzhou shall increase the range of electric cars by up to one third.

Solar trike from Spain: Evovelo presents its prototype electric trike, which can reach speeds of 45 kph with a drivers’ cab and solar panel on the roof. The Mö, as Evovelo has named their vehicle, will have a removable 1,000 Wh battery and space for two adults and two children. While its range is 50 km in its electric mode, but can also be used like a bicycle. Reservations are available for 300 Euro and the vehicle itself will cost about 5,000 euros.

Electric aircraft order: Fresno county, California is funding the acquisition of four electric airplanes of the type Pipistrel Alpha Electro from Slovenia as well as its charging infrastructure for approximately 1 million dollars. The county wants to use them in initial pilot training as well as for transport.
