What the elk test was for Mercedes, is the kangaroo challenge for Volvo. The Swedes are testing autonomous technology in Australia and it appears the hopping marsupials are much harder to detect, esp. when in mid-jump, than grazing moose. Volvo does not expect to be thrown off production course by the kangaroo though but sees it as part of the evolution – in technical terms.
