Ultra compact EV: It folds but is a car and can be driven while sitting or standing. The ‘E-Urban Mobility’ is the brainchild of South Korea’s Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and designed to bring relieve to congested cities. For production, Power Plaza will step in and the project also looks to clean up the manufacturing process. A prototype is currently under construction and set to debut at the Seoul Motor Show 2017.

Cruising: Dubbed Super 73 this e-bike shall boast a 1,000 W motor for speeds of up to 30 mph. We suspect its retro design and beer bottle holder in particular to be instrumental in its crowdfunding success – with 20 days to go, 180,000 dollars have been invested. Utility vehicle funding: 22.3m dollars are to support the development and demonstration of PEV, especially those that can lend their power to external uses. The DoE is looking to fund medium- as well as heavy-duty PEVs from Class 3 to Class 7.

Downsizing: Energizer introduces batteries made from recycled materials recovered from PEV power packs. For now, the so-called EcoAdvance AA and AAA batteries contain only four percent recycled battery material but the company aims to increase this proportion over time.
