Police plugs in: Police in Lower Saxony, Germany, ordered twelve VW Passat GTE. The federal state is home to the manufacturer that is in turn one of the biggest employers there. State fleets already include 38 (partially) electric cars, including the e-Golf and e-Up. However, state police own a total of 4,300 vehicles – so it is a long way before going all-electric.
