Cali buses go electric: The California Antelope Valley Transit Authority has ordered up to 85 electric buses from BYD to be delivered over the course of the next five years. The first 29 buses are expected to arrive within the next 12 months. Each bus has a range of up to 160 miles and is expected to save 46,000 dollars in fuel costs per year.

Unlimited HOV lane access? If new amendments in California pass, the state could remove a cap on HOV stickers for plug-in hybrids until 2019 and extend the already unlimited number of white HOV stickers for EVs through 2025. The number of green stickers for PHEVs was originally limited to 40,000 and has since been raised three times to a total of 85,000. All of which have already been passed out.

London’s new charging points: Hundreds of new electric vehicle charging points will be installed at lampposts in the London borough of Hounslow. The trial scheme is funded in part by the Mayor of London’s 20m pound Air Quality Fund (MAQF) and supposed to encourage EV uptake.

Audi for the stars: The carmaker provided some 300 vehicles to shuttle stars to the red carpet during the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Among them were 100 Audi Q7 e-tron plug-in hybrids as well as a driverless Audi A8 L W12 that used distinctive buildings for orientation.

Electric delivery: New Zealand Post will add Norwegian-build Paxters to its fleet. The all-electric delivery vehicles are small enough to drive on footpaths and have a range of 80 to 90 km. The NZ Post has set aside 15m dollars for the purchase of its new EVs, with the first 50 set to arrive mid-2016.
