EV batteries for India: The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) are working together to develop an affordable EV battery for Indian manufacturers. The goal is to reduce the cost to about one tenth of currently imported battery prices. A first prototype is to be revealed in about a year.

Camaro with plug: Ohio State University’s EcoCar team is turning a Chevrolet Camaro into a plug-in hybrid with an electric range of up to 40 miles. This is the third year that teams from 16 universities are going head to head in retrofitting cars with electric powertrains. Ohio State has won the EcoCar competition for the past two years.
