U.S. promotes electric drivetrains: The U.S. Department of Energy earmarked 56m dollars for grants for vehicle technology in January. The money will be used to i.e. promote research and development of battery technologies, power electronics and electric motors.

Better supercaps: Using nitrogen and graphene-like carbon, Chinese researchers have developed a super capacitor said to knock current technology out of the water. It is supposed to enable electric cars to charge enough kWh for 35 km in just seven seconds.

Electric dragon takes flight: Dragon Racing says that starting with the 2016/2017 season, it will take part as an independent manufacturer in the Formula E racing series. The team currently uses technology from the Venturi team.
