Yaris Hybrid gets new looks: Toyota announced that it will offer the grades ‘Style’ and ‘Lounge’ for the 2016 Yaris Hybrid model. According to the carmaker, some 170,000 units of the hybrid vehicle have already been sold since it arrived at dealerships in June 2012. Sales are expected to reach 200,000 units by the end of the year.

CR-Z Hybrid gets facelift: Despite rather grim turnover, Honda is giving the hybrid hatchback a makeover for the U.S. market. Under the hood, everything will stay the same, except that a sound amplifier is said to make the car’s 130 hp “at least sound sporty.” For those who need the extra noise, the new CR-Z Hybrid is said to be available from November.

Lithium from Mexico: Tesla has signed an agreement with Rare Earth Minerals and Bacanora Minerals for the long-term supply of lithium hydroxide for the Gigafactory in Nevada.Production there is initially expected to reach 35,000 tonnes of lithium compounds per year.
