Two times higher density? Samsung researchers have developed a high crystalline graphene coating for silicon cathodes, said to have twice the energy density than regular lithium ion batteries. This is made possible since the protective graphene layer decreases the volume change through a sliding process between adjacent graphene layers. The technology is expected to be market ready within the next two or three years.
