Electric bus deal: XALT Energy, manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries, signed a global exclusive agreement with Chinese Hybrid Kinetic Group for the supply of its Lithium Titanate batteries from its Michigan facility for electric buses in China. The deal is believed to be worth more than a billion dollars.

The California Energy Commission granted 24.9 million dollars to nine demo projects concerned with medium and heavy duty technology, primarily from the battery-electric and fuel cell segment. Funded projects run from electric yard tractors over electric school buses to electric refuse trucks.
