New UK subsidies: The British government has earmarked another 43 million pounds for the funding of electric mobility. 11 million will be invested in a total of 15 research projects and 32 million pounds will be used for the development of charging infrastructure. That also includes the extension of the homecharge grant scheme from April, but with a reduction in the maximum grant from 900 to 700 pounds.

Helsinki gets electric buses: Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) purchased 12 electric buses from Finnish manufacturer Linkker. Due to the use of aluminium, the lightweight buses are said to be very efficient. They will go into service in the Finnish capital as part of a pilot project this summer.

Zap-Map app launched: The new app provides information about publicly accessible charging stations across the UK. The country’s main EV charging websites are linked to the app to update information. Charging points can be filtered by rated power, connection type and vehicle model.

AMP takes Chicago: The Alpha Banking Company of Chicago has ordered five all-electric Workhorse E-GEN Trucks from AMP, while the Standard Equipment Company in Chicago ordered another three. The city incentivizes the adoption of electric and alternative fuel commercial trucks.
