Alexander Dennis partners with GKN: The bus and coach manufacturer will fit 250 of its buses with the GKN Gyrodrive electric flywheel hybrid system. The first fleets to undergo the update will be in London and Oxford. The system is said to reduce fuel consumption by up to 25 percent.

Hybrid bus in Hanoi: Siemens and the Vietnam Motors Industry Corporation (Vinamotor) are launching the first diesel-electric bus in Hanoi, which is the first of its kind in Vietnam. It features an ELFA drive system developed by Siemens, in which the diesel engine is used to power a generator and supply the rear electric engine with electricity.
