The consortium was able to develope a battery that is 41% (45 kilos) lighter than its predecessors, as well as slashing the costs by 63% by reducing the number of battery parts from 807 to 196.

Foton places drivetrain order: The Chinese busmaker ordered 200 Sumo HD-E-Engines from Prestolite E-Propulsion Systems. The drives are especially conceived for the use in heavy vehicles. Foton had successfully tested 100 of these in the past 18 months.

Profitable H2: Company First Element Fuel (FEF) expects that in 5 years’ time, it will make money with the sale of hydrogen fuel. The H2 filling station operator is supported by the state of California as well as Toyota. The California Energy Commission (CARB) is providing 27.6 million dollars for the installation of 19 H2 filling stations.
