Electric by air: Airbus is working on a two-seater electric airplane designed for pilot training or aerobatics. The E-Fan works with two electric motors and can fly for half an hour. Production could begin by 2017. The E-Fan shall serve as a model for a regional hybrid plane with space for up to 90 passengers. However, such an aircraft, which takes off and lands electrically, will take between 15 and 20 years to develop, according to Airbus.
