E-bike battery tester: System developer BionX has validated battery analysers by company BTC for its own e-bike power packs. The BA S-Pedelec 900 will be available to BionX dealers, so they can test batteries on location, rather than having to send them in for analysis.

Improving rider-bike relations: Swiss company Stromer has developed a new e-bike, the ST2, equipped with Bluetooth and the ability to communicate with the rider’s smartphone. Via an app, the latter can then turn the bike on and off, as well as tune it to individual preferences. The phone can be charged via USB cable while driving.

Electric Safari: Kenya’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy signed an agreement with Green Automotive Company (GAC) to develop a fully-electric safari vehicle. GAC is in charge of developing the drivetrain and integrating it into the body. The goal is to preserve the environment and stop scarring animals away with rattling diesel engines.
