No electric Twingo? In Geneva, a Renault represensatitive crushed hopes for an electric version of the small car, saying that no Twingo Z.E. is planned so far, even though the Twingo shares its platform with the next-gen Smart.

VW drivetrains from China: German magazine ‘auto motor und sport’ reports that Volkswagen engineers in Foshan are working on electric motors for the Delta brand. The motors could also be used in plug-in Volkswagens built in the Chinese facility. A decision will be made in April.

Tesla cheaper in Europe: At launch, the starting price for the Model S in Germany was at 72,000 euros (99,800 dollars) but has just been lowered to 65,000 euros (90,100 dollars) without any notice. The same accounts for other countries. Tesla never officially lowered the price, nor commented it.

Zap for China: The Californian Zap hast just announced that it will launch the Sparkee on the Chinese market. The small commuter EV will be sold by Jonway Auto, Zap’s subsidiary in Zhejiang. The Sparkee is available with two battery options – lead acid or lithium and priced between 7,000 and 12,000 dollars.
