EV sales Switzerland: Last year, swiss consumers acquired a total of 1,222 electric cars, an increase of 52% compared to 2012. The Swiss’ favourites were the Zoe (342) and Tesla (213) followed by 178 Leaf and 156 electric Smarts. Mitsubshi’s i-MiEV was sold 110 times while the BMW i3 showed a quick uptake with 106 units. Renault’s Twizy, which is classified as a heavy quadricycle under EU regulations, found 207 buyers – a decrease of 62.7% compared to sales in 2012 (555).

Four in one: ClipperCreek has just introduced its HCS-40. This charging station mounted on a pedestal comes with one or two 240 Volt outlets and an optional two sockets with 120 V each. It can therefore charge up to four EVs at the same time and costs from 1,300 dollars.

E-mobility for a whole region: A new project called ‘Naturpark Südschwarzwald’ in the German territory of the same name has started as part of the model region Baden-Württemberg. It is the first attempt to include a whole region thus bringing electric transport to a wider rural area. The project will include experiences from 20 already successful e-mobility programmes at municipal level which include e-carsharing and electric buses.
