500 charging stations for rent: In the next five years, Luxembourg-based company Estonteco wants to set up 500 charging points across neighbouring Belgium. These will be rented out to parking garages, supermarkets or other publicly accessible places that will get parts of the earnings. The company will also offer repair and location services.

Plug-in wallbox: American ClipperCreek is now ready to deliver its HCS-40P charging station equipped with NEMA wall plugs. It can be installed wherever there is a 240 Volt connection and only uses two wall screws to fix it. Starting price for the 30 A station is 644 dollars.

Micro commuter in Miyakojima: Honda selected the city on one of Japan’s islands to test its MC-β micro EV. As part of the Small-sized Electromotive Mobility Project, the mini Honda will be used to explore a CO2-free community and therefore charged at solar charging stations newly built from Toshiba.

Cable carnage: In the Netherlands, a peacefully charging Renault Zoe got assaulted. The attacker apparently tried viciously to unplug the EV but “only” managed to dismantle the plug, stripping the metal pins of their plastic cover.
